Two Onions (Do Piaze)

Ingredients

2 onions
2 potatoes
Spices like chillies, turmeric, etc. (1 teaspoon)

The preparation of Do Piaze is quite easy!

1. Cut the first onion very small and mix it with two boiled potatoes along with the spices

2. Fry the mixture in a bit of oil very shortly

3. Serve it along with the second onion!

Background

As the name Do Piaze, which means two onions suggests, the two onions play the major role. One is cooked with the potatoes and the other is not, but both are eaten together at the table! Do Piaze is a very simple, cost- and time-efficient food and with healthy ingredients. It is typical of north of Iran and widely served among students. It is also served commonly inside, but rarely in restaurants. It is a simple dish and one can always enjoy it!
